You have to wonder, because under very light throtle its not to bad, And under hard acceleration its ok. I think this has occered recently, but ....well Im sure it has. Anyone got some info? On what ive delt with in the past (350-400) this is a majoir problem!. but ...... ehh ya never know, so I ask.......... again half throttle is the worst!!. its not a slide up, then slide down(if you know what i mean, Its amediate high rev for 1 second then shift.....no yoyo if you know what I mean. tnx for your time eric smith ps 86 gn 12.90 street tires, no big mods, 42k, chip intake 160, etc nothing big.. tnx

The 2->3 shift is when the transmission goes from the drum/band to the clutch packs. Slippage here can indicate:
  • worn 3rd gear clutches
  • low TV pressure
  • Worn pump
  • Sticking upshift valve
  • Leaking VB/gasket
  • Restricted filter

It wouldn't be a bad time to look to see if there's crap in the filter or if it has wiggled loose from the pump. If it is pulling air at the neck of the filter, it can cause low pressure.

If it's worn clutches, a fluid/filter change won't hurt, but it's gonna need a rebuild.
