I am currently building up a conversion regal. I am taking the front control arms out and am going to replace the bushings. Should i just use good quality (Moog or TRW) bushings or go with the urethane. I was told that the urethane was overkill in the front and they cause alot of squeaking. Thanks
I have a 24K mile, original gn and a 90K mile T-type. I rebuilt the T-type's A-arm with polygraphite bushings from PST 5 years and 10K miles ago. So far it still handles and drives better than the original GN, with no A-arm "clunk" under braking and no squeaking.
Real racers frown on polygraphites because they say they can bind in road racing applications. For the street, however, they work great in my experience.

I added them to my 84 Cutlass (same thing) and the car handled like a Vette. Unfortunately is also road like a vette...very hard and tight. That was not a problem for me as I like a stiff ride.
They did squeak a bit when they were forced to move a lot (large dip or deep pothole) but other than that they were awesome.
I will do it again to my GN when the time comes. I think the technolgy has come farther since then and they squeak less now.
I have 16k on the del-a-lum's in the front of my 86 and am entirely pleased. www.globalwest.net. I have the CNR-88-C kit.
Poly will bind when you tighten the suspension bolts to spec. The inner sleeves will wear on the a-arm shaft or the bolts if you leeve the bolts looser than spec, and it will squeak in many cases. It's pretty much a limp solution.
Another option that most don't consider is the 1LE bushings for the f-body. All lower control arms in an 82-92 F-body are the same, so those would be a high durometer rubber option.

I've also put a PST polygraphite complete front end kit on my car and I really like it. I put it on about 3 years ago and I've never heard a single squeak out of it. It's kind of nice to see the hood parallel to the road when I go into a corner and not trying to get perpendicular to the road.
