Tuesday, October 15, 2002 - 03:09 pm I took the metal trim off and I want to clean it before I paint it. I've tried bleach, gas, and some stain remover, but nothing seems to work. I don't want to put a wire wheel to the metal because it is so thin. I know trying to get 15yrs of grime off is pretty hard. Any suggesstions before I begin to paint the trim. Chad 86 gn

Sunday, October 20, 2002 - 03:23 pm Try cleaning the parts with a lacquer thinner it is fairly strong and won't leave a residue behind like the products you were previously using, the paint will stick better be sure to use a good primer if you want the final product to last a good long time. If the parts are that bad you may consider having them media blasted, (the best way to go in my opinion). Good Luck
