I recently bought an 87 WE4. It has the hood badges, the two red "T" badges on the fenders and the small "BUICK" on the grill, and that's it. What I'm curious about is what badges did the WE4 come with? I have seen pictures of other WE4's with a hood ornament, and some with the 3.8 sfiturbo trunk badge. My car had a hood ornament and a trunk badge at one point, I can see where they were(shoddy bodywork, and the trunk may have been a dealer badge). However, I think my car was hit in the front at some point, due to the fact that I have a non-turbo inner wheel well on the pass. side. Can anyone out there give me a definitive answer on this, or am I doomed to wondering what my car should really have on it? HELP!!!

Hey Frank call me blind and stupid but all I found in the resources were parts numbers. I did not find an answer to Dereks question. Maybe if I can find the time I will send some new information in to update some of the resources. Anyway, Derek are you sure you have a WE4? Up until November 1986 a person could have ordered a black Turbo-T. If your car has the black bumpers and moldings and gray interior than it probaly is a WE4. Like Frank was trying to say you can check your service parts identifcation on the bottom side of the trunk lid for the codes to verify. Look for code WE4. If your label is missing than you are in trouble. If it is there and you dont see that code e-mail me and I can decifer it for you. turbofish38@hotmail.com. I have personally seen different variations of WE4's out there. Some had hood ornaments and some didn't. I think the Pontiac assembly line would periodiacly ran out of the correct parts and would use anything to keep the line moving. The trunk lid should at least have a Buick nameplate on the right side. I dont think WE4 were supposed to have a 3.8 SFI plate on the left side. All my resources dont show any being there. And of course all WE4's came with the "T" and hood 3.8 SFI. Also if your label is missing look behind the drivers door trim panel. If nobody has been back there before you should see a build sheet for the doors and interior there. I have noticed that every G-body built on the Pontiac assembly line( I have looked at over 100 of them) has the build sheet taped there. It is pretty easy to decode but there should be a "W" code there. My 86 GN had WE2 there but than normal Regals have nothing and Limiteds have YT1. I hope this helps you out.

Heres an update for you. I would have answered your question sooner but I misplaced the information I had accumulated. The correct emblems for a WE4 are the 2 hood 3.8SFI(PN#25519633),2 fender"T"(22533743), 3.8SFI on the left side of the deck lid(25518640), the word Buick on the right side of the deck lid(1701932=discontinued) and a Buick nameplate on the grill(25526879). If you have a B57 code on your service ID label in the trunk you should not have a stand up hood ornament. I have only seen one black Turbo-T with a hood ornament but since this car was missing the VIN label with the build date from the drivers door I am just going to assume someone made this "T" into a WE4(someone put painted bumpers on this car). Also for more information on WE4's go to www.buickwe4.com.
