Everyone knows about the deteriorating filler panels behind the bumpers. Should I go fiberglass or get the ones from bumperfillers.com which are made of ABS plastic??? Just wondering if anyone here has seen these and could direct me in the right direction. Thanks!!

The original ones get hard and crack over time. I believe this is due to UV attack. Can someone tell me if there is a paint that has UV protectant in it making them last longer? The ABS plastic sets are nice but they don't bend at all. So if you get hit just enough to make the bumper hit the filler, the filler will crack. So the orginal ones do have an advantage.

its not so much as the paint that you apply over the filler. its mostly how hot it gets during the day, and how cold during the night. changes in temperature DO/DOES affect the materials that make up the filler. as for the paint, clearcoat has UV ray cemicals in it to protect the finish, not whats under it. so if the clearcoast has that, you can almost garentee the basecoat color wont fade away, if you protect it.
