| | Sunday, March 02, 2003 - 12:33 pm I need a grille for my 85 GN. The vendor I normally use only sells a black one. I thought the original was chrome on top with chrome bars down the side and one in the middle. Is it exactly the same as the 86 grille? Were there two different styles? Thanks, John

| | Sunday, March 02, 2003 - 08:16 pm 1985 and 1986 grills are common to each other. There were three grills used in “G” cars. All had a chrome bar at the top with the word “BUICK” in it. The Regal was all chrome. The T-Type and GN had chrome vertical bars on the outer edge and center. The remaining bars were black. The difference between the GN and the T-Type grill is the T-Type has a provision for an emblem mount on the lower left. GM part numbers are a follows. T-Type # 25526035 and GN # 25526744. The 1987 all black grill will fit the 85-86 models without any modification. 1987 GN grill GM # 25526614 and small “BUICK” emblem on lower left GM # 25526879. Hope this helps.
