Adam Rohrbach (Robes) | Friday, April 25, 2003 - 07:55 am I want to put a better sound system in my 87 GN. Right now it has a complete Alpine Type S system, but it is at least 7-8 years old. It sounds pretty good, but i just want something better. The new component system i want wont fit where the old speakers will (Alpine Type R 5.25"). I need to make custom door pods to fit these in there. Also, I was wondering if i could pull the inside of my doors off to expose the speakers without screwing something up. So, if you know where/how i can get custom door pods, it would be much appreciated. |

They require moving the ECM and putting it under a plastic shield under the passenger side carpet. Also they require you to "bend" the e-break pedal out some. I haven't used them or even seem them installed so that is really all I have to offer on the subject. Just noticed them on their website. Personally, I would just find some speakers that will fit under the factory grills. The sound quality from smaller speakers should only be audible in the lower frequencies, which in a properly "tuned" system, would be coming from another source anyway. |
