Hello,

I'm doing a minor clean-up and repaint of the wiper linkage. I'm hoping someone who has a nearly new GN would be kind enough to open the hood and take a look for me. I'm interested in know if the entire link (there are two)inside the engine compartment is painted black. This would include the riveted ball receptacles at each end. Or, are the riveted pieces kept their natural color? Brass? Copper?. Also there are stamped metal arms at the wiper motor and at each wiper arm pivot. What color are they, my guess is that they were once a zinc or zinc chromate plating.

Thank you in advance.

The only parts that were painted black were the long connecting U-shape rods. All other parts were the natural color of the metal they were made from. Use high pressure grease on the ball and socket joints. See illustration on private e-mail

Yeah mine are pretty much bare unpainted. They usually get the usual surface rust on them after a while. I would prime them then shoot them flat black.Anything else would draw to much attention to them and throw off a nicely done engine bay.
