I want my 87 Buick Regal to look like a GN with the GN hood, front grey bucket seats, center counsel, shifter, paint. Will it be worth it?
I've moved this to its own subtopic, since it really wasn't appropriate in the 'Tires and Wheels' section.
To really get the authentic GN pieces, it could get expensive. If your car is currently a column shift car, switching to a console shift will get a little complicated.
Even if you do it, all you have is a car that _looks_ like a GN and won't _run_ like a GN.
IMHO, its not worth it. Trading up to a real GN would be the way to go. But that's just my opinion.
been there tried that,....I ended up with about $7,000 in a 86 regal with a small block chevy and was getting stompped on by GN's and T-Types and I got made fun of alot buy those guys. So I finally saved up some money and bought one....Its a whole new ball game!
So,..It is also my opinion you dont even bother....spend your dough on a down payment!
If you want an engineering project, and want to keep that 305 Shivvy, get a front mount I/C and add dual turbos. Call ATR! You need headers and bigger injectors, (Or is it a throttle body injection?) and most of all, pistons. I don't know if the rods and crank would take the abuse, but it's like any other project, repair anything that breaks with the finest money can buy, and after awhile you'll have a runner.
I'm looking for a trunk lid for my '87 GN. It can be from a Regal as I don't mind drilling the holes for the spoiler. Someone broke into my trunk and messed it all up so I need a new one. Anyone have one they want to sell? Let me know. Thanks.
