Dave Romancheck (Daver) | Monday, January 21, 2002 - 07:50 am I am prepping my car for paint, does anyone know how to remove the 2 windows in the back seat. They do come out don't they? Do I need a special tool? |
Jeff Machusak (Cars) | Monday, January 21, 2002 - 09:52 am They are bolted in place from the inside. You have to remove the large interior panel that surrounds the window. Unbolting the seat belt dooooohickey is also required. Once you take off the 4 or 5 speednuts holding the window in, you have to gently pry or push the window out. It is held in place with this really sticky black goooo. hth Jeff CARS, Inc. www.oldbuickparts.com |
Phil Aubrey (Paubrey) | Monday, January 21, 2002 - 10:58 am It really helps if the window is warm. The weatherstrip and frame will come out with the glass.I use a hair dryer to heat up the glue.Get it as hot as you dare then push from inside. I have removed quite a few and haven't broken one yet. Just luckey I guess. Removal is neccessary for a good paint job. Phil |
