I was just wondering? I have noticed in some of the readers rides pictures that there is a ground effects that goes under the front of some of the cars? Was this added to the later models of the gn's or is it aftermarket? If it is something you can buy from a dealer or a special order item is there a chance i could get some input on were i could get this? I really like the way they look and my 81 turbo regal doesnt have it. Feel free to e-mail me with any suggestions and thanks in advance...... scott tomlinson monte2@netins.net

This 2 piece dam was put on 86 and 87 models due to the intercoolers drawing air from the center between the dams.

... and to add to what Frank said, there was a smaller air dam that went all the way across the front in the '84/85 cars (no intercooler, so didn't need the split).

And just to be different, the 82 Grand Nationals (Turbo and NA) use a custom 3 piece front spoiler. This consisted of a left and right end piece, and a center piece that went the length of the front bumper. This was only done on the 82 GN's. What is the end result? A real nice spoiler that you can't find replacement parts for...and if you do find replacements, they cost an arm and a leg! Ah the price of rarity.
Ironic tidbit: The 82 GN has an identical looking rear spoiler to later GN's, but the 82 spoiler pieces are all hand laid fiberglass, not ABS.

I want a Buick Grand National hood on my 1987 Buick Regal. Will a Buick Grand National hood bolt right on my where my factory hood is right now?

Yup.
An 84-87 GN/Turbo Regal hood is just a Regal hood with a bump on it.

Make that TR hood you're looking for a fiberglass reproduction. That's a good start.

Since this is getting away from the original topic, it might be best to start a new thread on this topic.
