Connecting oil pressure gauge (was: Oil Pressure Sensor Location)

I am installing a VDO oil pressure gauge in my 87 GN and am trying to find the location of the factory sensor. The tech page says it is on the block below the turbo. I opened the hood and looked down, crawled underneath and looked - even used a mirror and light to look sideways. I saw nothing with a wire - a couple of things with pipes that looked like they might carry oil - appeared to come off the front cover down by the oil pump. What does it look like? Will removing the lower radiator hose give me better access? Did these things come with oil cooler setups? I appear to have a pipe coming off the front cover that runs up to a radiator. What if I were to splice into that? Thanks much for any input.

Follow your turbo's oil feed line down. There is a "T" down near the oil pump. The idiot light sensor is down there. Having the lower radiator hose off will aid access, as I recall.

If you want to retain the light as well as the gauge, you will need a "street tee". Put it in place of the sensor, then put the sensor and your gauge sensor in the street tee.
