Chinese registrations, respones (Was part of: column needed)

For some reason , I keep getting these Chinese responses to anything I post on this web site. This is what I got posting here.

They seem to be watching this web site? Anyone else having this problem?

There has been a persistent trickle of Chinese sourced registrations. Been able to stop them all almost as soon as they sign up. Only seen one get approved and post. Will be working to make things even harder for them.

Anyone with similar issues, contact me via email.

Scott,

Can your hosting company block all IPs from China???

May need to do that to stop the BOTS from adding your IP to the attack list.

I had GBODYUNIVERSE as a web site a while back and I fixed the attacks by that measure. I only had to have them blocked for a few months then gradually let up on the blocking.

Just a thought...

At the moment, a very active moderation scheme by our moderator team seems to have already scared them off.

I'm not sure you can whittle down China to a few Class A address spaces. Its a very large country. Not to mention, when you are dealing with hackers, who could possibly remote through other services.

Not a huge concern at the moment, but we always keep our eyes open.

Your right about China being large!

I block most China IPs from my websites. I don't see the attacks like I did before. But they are getting crafty... They enlist "Zombie" computers from all over the globe to attack. But that is diminishing due to more security measures and education.

Look up the I-BlockList web site. This is mainly geared towards the P2P crowd but they have a very good "bad" China IP list. There is also many more.

We have thousands of IPs and domains blocked already. Trust me.
