Broken Tranny - Need a good rebuilder

Hi guys,

I haven't really posted on this forum since it went to a bulletin board format years ago, but really need some advice. Is Nick Micale still active in the forum?

Anyway, I broke something in my tranny the other day (no gears, forward or reverse) and I need to take it to a good shop to have it rebuilt. I pulled it out of the car last weekend but I need some advice on where to take it for repair. I'm in Tucson, AZ.

Anyone know of a good/reputable tranny shop near me? They don't need to be a GN/TR specialist, they just need to know 200-4R, right?

Where do you guys take or send your GN tranny's for a rebuild?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Call David Husek at 516-285-1103
this is his site http://turbobuickperformance.com/ and he ships all over the country.

i had my old trans rebuilt by a "good" builder before and it didn't last on a bone stock car. This guy knows his stuff with these transmissions.

He is a LONG way from Arizona...

Nick does not visit here that often, but he is still around. You can contact him via arizonagn.com

An excellent source is Bruce @ ptsxtreme.com in Wilton, CA.

I believe you should usd a TR builder. These are NOT regular 200-4R transmissions, as several parts are unique. Take yours to AAMCO, and your hard shifting TR trans goes in granny's old Cadillac, while her smooth shifting one that wasn't meant for any power ends up behind your motor.
