a little help understanding turbo's

let me preface this by saying I researched the articles on this site and did learn a lot but still not sure about a few things.

1. Would it be correct to say a TE-60 can perform at the same HP level as a TE-34 with less boost psi and not having to work as hard?

2. TE typically has more HP than TA or is this a brand thing?

or am I way off... Thanks -John
If there is something you think I missed that answers this, post a link if you know it.. thx

Eh...sorta. The wheels in a TE60 are larger. So it will be harder to "get going". Once it is spooled, it will make boost easier, and generate more volume, but it is harder to get started. The TE34 would spool quickly, but not generate as much volume.

Looking at the "map" for these turbos (and no, they are not on the site - though some examples are) may illustrate this better.

"TA" turbos have a stock appearance. "TE" turbos do not, since their inlet bell is integrated.
