well if ya want to get that thing faster ya need a few things that keep it relatively stock. number one get a better intake give that car some air. number two adjustable fuel pressure regulator more air needs more fuel. and number three would be better exhaust system if it is still stock this will make the car sound nice but still look stock. those three upgrades should make it a low 13 sec ets. sounds like ya got the chip working good. all of these are pretty easy to do and you can save all your parts to put it back to orignal. but if your lookin for 12s your going to lose the bone stock value to the car..

theres plenty left to do before braking the bank...shift kit in tranny if you wish etc

do you have any scan tool data??

or a wide band ??

a major upgrade would be to get a better air intake.. the stock one is very restictive as Ed suggested

FWIW, I got my 87 T to go 12.96 with no tourque converter upgrade, through the stock exhaust and catalytic converter, and on DOT tires. Did use a cold air intake. Just simple 'recipe' mods and lots of fine tuning with a scan tool.

You can't push things harder than the stock converter stall at the line. About 2200-2400 is all you will get. However, you can upgrade the rear brake cylinders to hold it back better. (cylinders from a 84 S-10 truck with manual brakes are a hair larger)

A scan tool is a must.

Read the Recipes section for most of the basics ...

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/recipes/recipepage.html

As stated ... it's about more fuel/air and a chip calibrated to take advantage of that.

With good gas, some traction, a basically stock car (with air intake, fuel pump, test pipe, sticky tires) should be able to run solid 12s with sixty foots in the 1.6-1.7 range and trap speeds around 107-109 MPH.

This would require 100+ octane gas and 20 psi boost (and tuning).
