Question Re: First time GN buyer questions

Everything depends.

- What shape and value does the '49 have?
- What shape and value does the '84 have?
- What do you plan to do with it?

For the most part, the 84/85 TRs are not as desirable for a few reasons: less power (no intercooler), computer with less data value outputs (though can be swapped for a 86/87 computer), transmission valve body with slightly less aggressive valving, and lower market values (despite having lower production values, thus being more rare).

If the car has the Lear Siegler interior (better, highly adjustable and supportive seats that have a fabric that is hard to find if work or torn) it will be worth a bit more.

The parts availability for all the TRs can be a little tough, but the 84/85 cars are worse. The good news is that most things can be changed to 86/87 parts if need be. As far a what you should do, it depends on what kind of shape it is in, and what you plan to do with it. Drive it? Show it? Race it?

Really, we need more info to answer the question well.
