Exclamation Scan Tool Comparison Chart

A quick reference comparison chart from the TurboLink site:

http://web.archive.org/web/200605050...scanchart.html

Note that TurboLink is no longer being produced.

This should help answer many common feature and comparison questions.

NOTE: IF the link fails, please follow the instructions on the hosting page, and notify archive.org that it is not accessible!

I've replaced the link with a cached copy for now. I will edit the cached HTML and add it to our site.

Please read the info provided on that link. It is hosted elsewhere and we cannot be responsible for its uptime.

When (if?) it returns, we'll try to move the contact over here.

Unhappy Re: Scan Tool Comparison Chart

The link is hosted by archive.org. We can't control it.

I suppose we'll have to recreate the chart from scratch, since it doesn't look like it is coming back...

The link is back. We will get the data hosted here. Will also update with info for PowerLogger, etc.

Note that archive.org is responsible for their own servers. They have thousands of them, and obviously don't watch their status that closely. Please feel free to notify them if the link is not available, as we have no control or influence over it.

Default Scan Tools Comparison Chart

I was looking for a scan tool and learned that most of the software like TurboLink is no longer available. This is what I have learned as a beginner. First, you need a cable to connect the ALDL to your computer and the corresponding software. www.reddevilriver.com sells three types: serial, usb and bluetooth. He recommends TunerPro RT, which can be downloaded for free from tunerpro.net. It will run 100% after a 10 second nag screen. If you wish you can purchase a license from TunerPro and avoid the 10 second nag screen. Red Devil River has videos on how to set up and operate TunerPro RT here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5OBb...721B5634A4EC45. TunerPro RT allows you to see all the vehicle inputs at one time. It allows you to record them and play them back and make a dashboard of all the sensors.

^^ Just to be very clear on this -- purchasing the cable and CD from Red Devil River and then downloading the other software will allow me to see the live data on our GM OBD-I vehicles? I can look at IAT's, see the O2 sender cycling up and down, read the TPS? I am at the office, so watching the linked vids has to wait until this evening.
