Default Running like sh...poo

I have an 87 GN. Some modifications done, i believe it has the red stripe injectors, TE-60 turbo, larger exhaust, pretty much it I think.

The motor has been apart for 4 years. We finally got it back together and it has a really rough idle. Like its dropping a cylinder. Unplugged an injector and it didn't seem to change anything.

We ran the automotive shop style injector cleaner though it and it still doesn't idle good.

Any ideas on what to look for?

I know next to nothing about these cars...yet

Thanks

I probably should have added this first. Its a fresh long block.

The guy working on the car with me is actually a mechanic, but as with most mechanics he hasn't worked on GN's before.

I was just trying to see if there were any areas that might be being overlooked.

yes we have a scan tool

Question Re: Running like sh...poo

Are you certain all plug wires are connected correctly?

What is the resistance across each coil?

One hole not firing on a V6 is pretty serious.

Well we have it running a lot better now.

Looks like it was a few problems adding up. One was that one of the plugs had like no gap to it almost all of the plugs were fouled. It sat for four years...i kinda figured we would have problems.

We took it for a test drive on sunday. Things seem to be running a lot better. Only thing is we have 2 issues.

It sets a code for waste gate failure. What does that mean?

And when you get on it hard and let off you hear a fast paced "fap fap fap fap fap fap fap" noise from under the hood. Any ideas?

Thanks

Wastegate code is either a dead solenoid or blown CCC fuse.

Well the car is running better. Put a nice full tank of 93 octane in it and put a few miles on it. Looks like i'm still running a bit rich and have the wastegate solenoid issue.

Who sells the solenoids? If its like anything else on this car Autozone is no help at all.

That would be the compressed air backing up. The turbo is still rotating at a high rate of speed and when you close the throttle it backs up against the plate. It is actually air going back out through the compressor side.

Sounds kinda' cool huh?

i thought having the computer control the boost was a better way of tuning your car and not over boosting?? or is the manual boost controler better.
