Default Nitrile o-rings for fuel line connections

I've been doing some detailing and maintenance on various items on the car while the motor is out being rebuilt. I replaced the red-colored worn out o-rings on my fuel connections with black colored nitrile o-rings. Just double checking to make sure these will be okay since every other fuel related o-ring I've ever seen is reddish or burgundy colored. Thoughts?

Look at gasoline and ethanol ratings for various materials. All (pump) gas now pretty much has some alcohol in it. I'd look at "gasoline" and "ethanol". FWIW, Viton appears to be a very good choice.

Viton is what a lot of the OEM injectors use nowadays with all the E85 and alky out there.

The Mototron injectors used to be sped'd with Viton O-rings, for example.

That said Nitrile (as long it isn't Hydrogenated) should be fine, but might get brittle with age.

Okay, that's what I figured. From the little bit of reading I did on the subject, I gathered that viton is basically a step up from nitrile when it comes to what is or is not compatible--petroleum based fuels being fine for both.

FWIW, I used the nitrile o-rings from this assortment from Harbor Freight and it worked out really well. It had all the correct sizes to replace the power steering connections and under hood fuel line connections, minus the injectors and fpr. After separating the fuel feed and return line connections, I really couldn't believe that they were still sealing properly given the condition of the o-rings. Come to think of it, in the past, I've done some WOT blasts and smelled fuel strongly in the car. Either way, it's a cheap, easy fix for a very critical part of the car.
