Re: RJC Vs Pypes
Rob, I installed the Pypes race pro system yesterday. Did it on my back in the driveway. The install went smooth, I didn't have to cut any length off any of the pipes. The system sounds great and is pretty quiet even with a test pipe installed in place of the cat.

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
Thanks for the info, not to sound picky, but it's just something that would drive me nuts, how are the slant cuts at the tips, are they both level and even?
How would you compare the sound to this setup; RJC Racing Exhaust System on Buick Grand Nationa…: http://youtu.be/_9g7V_NSUTs I wish I had both in front of me and not YouTube to compare harmonies |

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
The cuts on the exhaust tips look pretty similar, the drivers side is sitting upward just a bit more then the passenger side, You really have to stare at it.

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
The Pypes system sounds quieter then the RJC system. I would say it's a little bit quieter then the old aero chamber mufflers I had on there with the Hooker system. I wanted to quiet the car down some. also I have a test pipe on there now. With the cat converter it would quiet down some more. I got the Pypes system for $ 371.00

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
That's a good deal! I think summit still has it listed for 399. I believe the rjc setup has recently gone up to 599. My debacle, I like the cost and quietness of the pypes, but I just can't get on that boat 100% for some reason

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
Rob, I got the Pypes system from Jegs for $371.00 shipped. That drivers side tailpipe slight angle bothers you right! At least you have a choice with some feedback. If you have anymore questions about the Pypes exhaust just ask. The install went just like Pajeff87 said, although I adjusted (slid) the pipes in and out so that (no) cutting of the pipes was needed.

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
Thanks again! When the time comes I'll let you know what I ended up with.
Anyone who has had the Pypes system for a few years, being made of 409 stainless, how does it look after time? Any discoloration? Last edited by Rob86; 07-12-2014 at 06:50 PM. Reason: added question |

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
I installed the Pypes system last year and it still looks great. We also run ours with a "test pipe" and I am very pleased with the tone and volume. Glad to see that they have the driver side tip issue mostly resolved.

Re: RJC Vs Pypes
Now if we can only get them to send us a replacement driver side tail pipe......
