Default Brake fluid change

The brake fluid in my car has never been changed from what I recall. How do I change it? Is there an "How to" on how it's done?

Ken

I had a look at the article and the valve your referring to is one below...correct?

Why does the plunger of the proportioning valve need to depressed while bleeding the system.
Since I want to change the fluid...should I remove the fluid from the master first and put in new oil...so I can start the bleeding with clean oil?

From the steps it seems their is no brake pedal pumping, just lightly depress the brake pedal (with ignition on) engine running?

Pushing the plunger in overrides the proportioning valve so you get full fluid flow.

I wouldn't try changing fluid in the Master to avoid air in the master (that's a separate bleeding procedure and usually done on the work bench). I'd just pump enough through to swap out all the fluid.

If you use a vacuum bleeder rig, that can simplify the process too (and you don't necessarily need to have a helper to push the brake pedal). The published procedure is letting the brake pump do the work with a helper.
