Re: Brake pressure switch
I've seen a couple go on eBay and I think Kirban's and maybe Casper's sell them or can point you the right direction...

Re: Brake pressure switch
The part number is 18018141. It sits on top of the Powermaster assembly, and has a grey plastic top.
Used ones should be easy to find. New ones will be more difficult.

Re: Brake pressure switch
I called my local GM dealer parts counter this morning about the switch. A friend is looking for one. They claim the part number has been changed. they say it is now 18038508. Short of calling every GM dealer around (yea right) is there any other way to verify this?

Re: Brake pressure switch
Hunting around www.acdelco.com seems to show that number as being for the '86 fullsize cars that used the PowerMaster only. Also under the short number of 18M755. Still available. Check for it at www.gmpartsdirect.com. Not sure why it would be different.

The only one that came back was the number the GM dealer gave me and they call it a "brake pressure warning switch", only with a much better price than the dealer. I really don't understand the reason for the part number change either.

Re: Brake pressure switch
It is not a change. The number you gave is listed for the Powermasters on the '86 fullsize cars and wagons. I can not guarantee that is a replacement or a 1-to-1 swap for the TR piece. Someone that really knows these brake systems (maybe Hank Terry?) might be able to tell us the hydraulic sense settings of this switch vs. the other one. Maybe they are the same or close enough. Maybe not.
Just be careful and don't get yourself hurt or killed finding out. It would be better to know and be sure than to not know and find out that it will make your brakes lock up or not grip hard enough.
