Default big gains with alky

I am currently running 17#s of boost with no detonation according to scanmaster, setup is ported heads, cam to match,42#injecters,3200 911 stall, walboro, accufab, and TA60,janis trans, turbo tweak ,my mechanic told me today that my next step should be an alky kit if I want to go faster I usually run 93 octane, what kind of perfomance increase and boost levels should I be able to see with a good alky kit?

Lightbulb Re: big gains with alky

Looking back at years of recipe cars, a turbo like that works best at a much higher boost level. Perhaps closer to the 25-ish area. That being said, more octane (or some alcohol) will be necessary to make it happen.

History says that a built combo with a TA60 should be mid to low 11 combo easily at full boost. A very well tuned car, launched right, could touch the high 10s.

Thumbs up Re: big gains with alky

You will need more injector to get there. But definitely a LOT of fun!

Don't forget that most tracks will require you to have a rollbar at 11.50.

yea id say alky is well worth it, i have a real stock setup. my best time before alky was 14.2 at 98. i put the alky kit in with a tune on the street chip... and very first run was 13.4 at 103. by then end of that day i got it down to a 13.0 at 104. now with the alky chip and a rough tune im down to a 12.9 at 106

lots of people like the razor kit, gbodyparts sells it. i went with a devils own kit, works perfect for me. it was a little cheaper and at the time i wanted alky asap on small budget... id say the alky chip and a alky kit you can expect the same gains if your on stock boost now....

but you need to be very careful and tune the car out it was tricky for me to get it down right..even right now i dont have it perfect, make sure the obvious is already done aka the spring clean up...then READ THE DIRECTIONS and have at it
