Won't turn over
Tried to start my 87 GN this morning--it cranked a little bit, didn't start, and went dead. No lights, nothing. Waited a little while and tried again. This time the dash and interior lights came on but it wouldn't crank and then no lights. Checked battery charge--it's OK. Checked fuses--all OK.
Will a dead starter short the entire system out? What other failures would cause these symptoms? Thanks for any help. |

Re: Won't turn over
Does everything black out when cranking? Trying to determine if the starter solenoid is OK or not.

Re: Won't turn over
Did you have the battery load tested??? You can have 12 volts in the battery, but no amperage to handle the starter amps... Tom G.

Re: Won't turn over
Everything is basically blacked out at this point. It won't crank at all.

I haven't load tested the battery. I'll do that next.
