Thumbs up Drag Race/ Street Suspension

Im slowly building up my Gn for some street cruzing and drag strip action. Would like to hear some suggestion and input on rear trailing arms and front spring rates. Just any info and and as many pictures as possible. Please help thank you

IMHO, you don't have to go too crazy for a street/strip setup.

I first added a longer pinion snubber. I just removed the stock unit, and used a off-the-shelf snubber screwed into a section of square steel tube cut to the appropriate length. Tapped a hole for the snubber, and attached it to the frame with bolts. The stock snubber is not very long at all.

I also added rear air bags from Air Lift. HRPartsNStuff offers some spacers that allow them to be used with the bags and lower air pressures can be used as a result.

For arms, I used the HRPartsNStuff rear arms. I have upper adjustables and lower stock fixed length. Not sure I have them set right, as my 60' times really didn't improve. Something I will investigate in the future.

As for the front, I stuck with the stock springs. After speaking with HRPartsNStuff, they said used stock springs were fine, and any lighter weight "drag" springs would destroy the ride.

I also used QA1 single-adjustable "Stocker Star" shocks at all four corners. I do plan to adjust them more and try to find a good setting for each corner when I get it out again. Regardless, you can set them less for the front, and even or tighter in the rear. Each shock has 18 settings selected by one knob.

I might mention that others have simply boxed their control arms and put in new bushings and achieved great results with little else. A lot depends on what you plan to run with the car and the wheel and tire combination, too.

It looks like it came out pretty level or is that an optical illusion?

How much boost did you leave with in the rosewood?

Left the line at 20 PSI on that pass.
At the Noble shootout
25-30 psi

20 PSI launches are not typical. And a bit hard on the clutches in the trans.

Given the uneven lift coming off the launch, the car looks like it needed a stiffer / larger rear bar. (Like an HRPartsNStuff bar) Or a very pumped up airbag in the right rear!

LOL! Needed something still a hell of a leave, my lone trip to the track and I apologize up front for the hijack is in a 2 weeks I put on a set of 255/60/15 MT DRs and can build about 10 psi on the street should I try to leave with all I can muster? I'm sure i'll top my best of 11:88 with a 2.0 short time. Don't want to get sent home (no cage) but I would like to post the best my combo has to offer.

If you are in the 2.0 range 60 foot, then hell yeah! Needs more boost on the leave!

It's pretty easy to get solidly in the 1.6s with slicks/MTs. Low 11/high 10s should net you mid 1.5s on a good track. Low 1.5s/high 1.4s are possible with a good leave with boxed arms (or nice tubulars), bushings, air bags... I know ... I've seen me do it!

Once the motor goes back in, I think I'll update to a better rear bar (Charlie has given me some ideas!) and probably get some purpose built arms (instead of my homemade boxed ones) ...

FWIW, a well prepped track is MUCH stickier than the street. You might be surprised at the difference in how the car leaves with the MTs and boost.

BTW, I suggest reviewing the MT site for air pressure suggestions. And don't over-heat the tires. After an initial strong burnout, latter ones generally need not be so heavy.

Now back to the suspension chat...

I removed the HR sway bar just for that pick. The car leaves nice and straight with a small wheelie when the bar HR sway bar is connected .
