Default Power master

Hey guys can any one explain to me how the power master brakes work? what is the purpose of pumping the brake pedal 10 times? Is there a certain way to add brake fluid to the reservoir when its low? For some reason only one side of the reservoir is missing fluid. I checked for leaks but was unable to find any. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Key components:
  • The Power Master uses an electric pump to pressurize the system (instead of the normal vacuum diaphragm type of arrangement).
  • There is an accumulator (the big bulb on the side of the master cylinder) which has a very high pressure nitrogen charged reservoir and diaphragm to provide initial pressure until the pump catches up when you press the brake pedal.
  • The fluid is mostly in the system and the accumulator during operation.
You have to release the pressure in the system and let the fluid drain back into the master cylinder fill reservoir before you can get an accurate reading of the level.
