Fuel filter change
I want to change the gas filter on the car. What is the proper way of doing the work? I know there is pressure in the line. How do I release it?
Is there a particular brand of gas filter I should get over others? |

Re: Fuel filter change
Get the AC Delco GF652 one if you can find it or the WIX #33481 /Hastings GF111
Release the pressure (CAREFULLY) at the Schrader valve on the end of the fuel rail. You can unplug the fuel pump with the car running and let it run out of fuel to reduce the pressure before doing this ... or be careful and wrap a rag around the end and catch the brief spurt of gas that will come out. Fuel filter is on the fuel line right behind the driver's door on the inside of the frame ... it's threaded on BOTH ends so be careful to not bugger up the threads.
