Question Re: no start issue

Does your fuel pump run when you turn the key to the "run" position?

Is the ECM wire plugged in at the battery?

Do you have a scan tool?

no i don't have a scan tool. is the ecm wire the orange wire, that looks like a inline fuse, that you can take apart?, i hear a noise, but i was under the impression it is the brake accumulator building up pressure. i was not aware you should hear the fuel pump. speaking of which, where is the fuel pump located anyway. thanks for the response.

You found the right wire and connector... Fuel pump is in the tank... Can you get a hold of a fuel pressure gauge??? When you turn on the ing. you will here a 2 second prime from the fuel pump relay to turn on the fuel pump in the tank... Tom G.

Lightbulb Re: no start issue

The orange wire near the battery is the ECM wire. That connector that looks kinda-like a fuse holder is the ECM power connector.

The fuel pump is in the tank. It should run for a few seconds when the key is turned to "run".

Note that the FP/INJ fuse needs to be intact for the car to run as well.

A scan tool might really help here...

Exclamation Re: no start issue

See the area we have about scan tools for discussing them and addressing questions about them.

In short, auto parts tools are OK for pulling error codes if you have them. But you can do that with a paper clip on these cars. We have articles on how on to in the web site tech articles. For more info you need a scan tool that gives live data, and most of theirs do not.

Follow up to the scan tool area of the forum, please.
