Question O2 Sensor Thread size......

...ok. I know the size is M18x1.5 pitch, but i cant find a Tap anywhere without buying a $125 kit [ and my tap and die kit only goes to M12 ] i have tried a couple of auto parts places one had a 14mm tap [doesnt do me any good] but then i found a 14mm/18mm sparkplug chaser. 1. are O2 sensors the same pitch as sparkplugs and 2. Is a chaser strong eneough to tap? Thanx for any future replys.

Can't you go get a bung from a muffler shop? Or consider getting a nut with that pitch/thread and welding it to the pipe?

Question Re: O2 Sensor Thread size......

How bad did you munge it? If you folded threads over, a chaser won't work. If they're just a little damaged, a chaser might to it. Just be sure to keep the chaser/threads lubed while spinning it. Do you have a proper tap handle?

< ----you can get 2 of em here for 10 bucks

Cleans Threads in Oxygen Sensor Holes. Use with 3/4" hex socket or 3/8" square drive. Size: M18x1.5 Also works on M18x1.5 spark plug threads.
