fuel gauge issues
Fuel gauge in my gn was all wonky, would go up to full then once it got to 1/2 it would bounce between empty and full for a while till it just went to empty. Upgraded to a Waibro race fuel pump so replaced the sending unit at the same time ( a $200 part) just the sender. seems to be a bit better but still not reading right. was this a common issue? is the gauge screwed? or do i have a bare wire somewhere? thoughts? thanks

Re: fuel gauge issues
In 90% of the cases, it's the sender ... either the contacts are worn/burned, the float is sticky, or some combination of those. Since you replaced it with a new one (you got the right one for your dash? Digital and Analog are different?) it's almost got to be a bad wire in the harness or bad ground, IMHO.

Re: fuel gauge issues
Yep got the right sender, double checked before i ordered it since it was +200 at NAPA. Could be a ground cause some times my car has some other random electrical "ghosts" that appear time to time. Thks for the reply Ken.

Re: fuel gauge issues
Our fuel gauge was acting all weird in our car when we bought it. Cleaning the contacts on the connection at the instrumment cluster fixed most of the issue. It still acts a bit odd every now and then, but much better than what it originally was doing.
