5-speed tranny?
i have just purchased a 1987 regal with a 305. i also have an 86 gn. so my plan is to make the regal my daily driver.does anyone know what is involved with a 5-speed out of a camaro(sorry) swopped into the buick. would the pedals work is there much modifiying ,driveshaft linkage etc... surely someone out there has done this swap. any leads or advice would be great. thanks.

yes the swap was done before and the car was slower..
I think it was car&driver that did it.. |

Might have been Hot Rod or Car Craft. Regardless, that was the result. The stock gearing combo for a rather stock car is VERY hard to beat. As is the automatic.

the car is a v8 , i am not doing this to my gn its a 305 car.

I just out of the Monte Carlo SS "business" and bought a GN. Go look on the Monte websites. I was considering doing the same swap, but sold the car. There is a kit you can buy for the 80's Monte Carlo that converts to a straight drive. I feel that it may work on a Regal, most everything is about the same.
