Default Hooker cat back system "part # 16810HKR"

If anyone is using this system (it comes with two "super competition turbo mufflers", not "aerochamber") I would be interested in hearing about how you like it. I am considering purchasing this kit as an upgrade to the stock exhaust on my GN now. I want better sound and flow but fairly quiet and no drone at regular speeds. I am leaning toward this system over the Flowmaster or Walker muffler-only upgrades. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

my '87 GN had this system on it when I bought it. It's several years old and has some surface rust, but overall, it's in good shape. I like the Hooker system because the tailpipes look stock (only bigger). As for sound, the Super Comp muffs. are quiet. I'd say they match the description of what you're looking for pretty well. They don't get obnoxiously loud at WOT. Actually they're a little *too* quiet for me, but they still sound good. Overall, I think the Hooker setup is very good "bang for the buck". It's cheap enough that if you decided you didn't like the sound of the muffs. you could always swap them out for something else later.

I have this setup on my car with no cat. It is quiet, it really is not much diffrent than the stock exhaust at all. The muffler's are coming off my car real soon...

My apologies for taking so long but heres some pictures of the exhaust. Been real busy just getting the car to run right. Thankfully all is well and the car is running smooth as hell. I am working on the easiest way to get a nice vid for the audio part of the car. If you want I can video message you something out of my phone if you want or I can wait to get my data cable for the phone and just load it straight from the phone to the comp. Anyways hope the pictures help in your decision. Without a cat they do sound real nice not overbearing but you know the car is mean. Take care

No clue it came with it when i bought the car. Looks to me like the previous owner wanted to make a GNX style rear suspension and I guess never finished. They did a nice job welding it in. I wonder if I should take it out or leave it? You think that crossmember provides any rigidity or antiflex qualities. If so I might as well keep it on there.
