Default Finally running, cuts out on boost and SES

Finally got the GN running pretty good. So far I've put about 200 miles on it since it started running. This morning when i left for work after about 35 minutes of driving I went to pass on the expressway and as it boosted up it started to cut out, SES came on, and then I got out of it.

After getting off the expressway I hit it a couple more times on an industrial drive and after making 10lbs of boost(stock gage) the SES light would flicker as its cutting out. I didn't have a scan tool on it though.

I'm going to mess with it more at lunch. But this is the first time this has happened and i've burried the stock boost gauge quite a few times since it started running. In fact yesterday we cruised about 50 miles with it and it ran great.

Took it for a drive to get lunch today.

I noticed when it cuts out it loses power to the point that the radio quits making sound. I don't think the radio actually shuts off, but it you can hear the music stop. Maybe some sort of electrical gremlin?

When it senses detonation all it does is pull timing out right? It doesn't actually start killing the engine?

I'm very confused...

Check the positive battery cable where it runs under the pass. side header. It often gets the insulation burned off and then it shorts when the motor torques over on hard acceleration.

Also, check the neg. cable where it attaches to the front of the block (bottom bolt of turbo brace).

A quick update here.

I found that the wire going to the starter was rubbing on the heatshield for the header and it wore through the jacket and started to arc.

Haven't had a chance to drive it since i moved the wire. But i think thats the problem.

I was going to drive it to work this morning...but it was f'ing snowing ?!?!?!?!
