those look like ground wires to me. are they all black wires. there is a plug that comes out of the harness at the back of the engine that plugs into the coil pack and it has a small bolt through it to bolt it to the coil pack

Lightbulb Re: Need Help

Those do look like grounds. Believe they go on the back of one of the heads. The passenger's has a ground strap, so perhaps its the other side. Never had my motor out or heads off...

The coil (any 84-87 car) had only six leads from the ignition module. The module has a harness that slides into one end and is held in with a 1/4" encapsulated screw/bolt, and then has the leads to the coil.

The picture appears to be an 84/85 car or prior because the fan belt is not wide and ribbed. So (at least stock) it would have the earlier module and coil near the front driver's side. It can be converter to 86/87 type if that is the case.

to me it looks like the cam sensor plug, i am going off of an 87 year model which is a little different but thats what it should be it should be located on the front of the engine above the water pump it will be a little black looking cap about the size of the top of a coke can with a connector that will plug into that plug.

here is a pic of the whole assembly just the top black cap should be what your looking for

That plug is coming from the coil pack connector.

the cam sensor feeds a signal to the ignition module which is the part under the coil pack,

the picture I posted is what you need to be looking for to plug into the connector that is in your picture

Exclamation Re: Need Help

Ignition module connector, no?

I just pointed out that the coil pack has no harness connector. It does have six tabs on its bottom, which mate with the wires on the top of the ignition module.
