Default Wideband O2

Does anyone know where I could get a wideband O2 sensor? Will the scanmaster just read from the new sensor without any trouble? Thanks -Abe

See some previous discussion at http://www.gnttype.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1136

There are many different brands and sources. Many brands are mentioned in the article. Full Throttel Speed carries several. Because they are wide band (0-5v) they really aren't designed to work in place of the narrow band OEM sensor (0-1v). However, some can be used in this fashion as well via their attached electronics. They are usually used more as a measurement and data logging tool.

Thanks for the info.

So would it be worth the money to get one without having a data logger recording everything that's going on?

With some systems, you can integrate a logger into the system pretty easily. Or at least a gauge for the sensor. See http://www.fullthrottlespeed.com/ite...~0~Tp~~Bc~.htm

None of this comes dirt cheap. But its a lot cheaper than it had been.

IMO, the wideband could be a good thing. It will allow you to get closer to "dead nuts on" in tuning, but the price, extra bung, etc, you can get a car pretty well tuned just by the scanmaster and turbolink numbers.
You could spend the money elsewhere and build up to the wideband in the future, if you wish.

Some of the widebands also emulate a narrow band output, so you can use them in place of a switching O2.

Ours are located in before the turbo, which is REALLY tough on the WB sensors (too much EGT).

I've been using a new device (in a dyno cell) that some guys locally designed and bulit:

http://www.prologger.com/vital_statistics.asp

It has a boost controller, triggered outputs, a tach, and internally records up several data logs. I haven't tried the boost controller portion (again, this is being used on N/A motors on the dyno), but it looks pretty sweet.
