Default VIN stamp on engine

Can anyone tell me where to find the vin stamp on my engine and trans? My car is a 1984. THANKS

The engine VIN is located on the drivers side at the back of the motor just above the oil pan rail.


The transmission VIN is located also on the drivers side at the back of the transmission,

I have seen a block that was not installed in a car from the factory. The one I saw only had the number "41" on it. A blank pad might indicate a factory replacement block, or a pre-production casting.
