Good source to buy a Fuel Pump
Hi guys, I need to replace the fuel pump on my 84 TType, but not sure if I should buy it from the local part shop (O'Riley, Pep Boys, Auto Zone, .....). Does GM still sell fuel pump for these cars? If not, where would be a good source to puchase one?

Re: Good source to buy a Fuel Pump
Parts store is NOT a good idea. The quality could be fine, or could be absolutely terrible.
OEM is probably not a good idea, as the OEM pumps really weren't adequate to begin with. My suggestion is one of the TR sources listed in our vendor listings. One, Racetronix, actually specializes in nothing but pumps, injectors, and wiring. If you plan to use your car very aggressively, a "hot wire" is probably a good addition. The stock pump wiring was not strong on these cars. http://www.racetronix.com/

Re: Good source to buy a Fuel Pump
Racetronix or GBodyparts.com
the new Deatschwerks looks promising.... http://www.gbodyparts.com/product_in...00cbe0a4847ffe and YOU CANNOT BEAT A 3YR UNCONDITIONAL Warranty also there is the new Aeromotive unit which looks to be pretty good. heres fuel pumps available from Racetronix----> http://www.racetronix.biz/customkiti...RFPK%2D006&eq= or the Denso TT pump .... but you need some mods to fit it... http://www.racetronix.biz/items.asp?Mc=DENSO hth

INJ-G75 - 1984-87 Turbo Buick Hotwire Harness
Okay, I finally purchased the Walbro fuel pump and the following Hotwire kit:
INJ-G75 - 1984-87 Turbo Buick Hotwire Harness ... When I opened the Hotwire kit, I was surprised to see that the wiring harnes was only 3 feet long. I was under the impression that this was going to hook up from the alternator all the way back to the fuel pump. Did I get the wrong kit or this is what I need? Please advise. Thanks, RiverRat |

Re: Good source to buy a Fuel Pump
Didn't happen to notice the injector connectors on it, did you? That is a new injector harness, not a pump hotwire kit.

Re: Good source to buy a Fuel Pump
you were close Scott. I just looked at the package label closely and it is a fuel injector power feed upgrade harness. I have no idea how I goofed on this order, other than I saw the Hotwire Harness label next to the item. Oh well, I am stuck with it now. I will go ahead and order the right one, but is this something that I can use on my 84 Ttype and get some sort of benefit?
Than you, RiverRat |
