Default Connecting oil pressure gauge (was: Oil Pressure Sensor Location)

I am installing a VDO oil pressure gauge in my 87 GN and am trying to find the location of the factory sensor. The tech page says it is on the block below the turbo. I opened the hood and looked down, crawled underneath and looked - even used a mirror and light to look sideways. I saw nothing with a wire - a couple of things with pipes that looked like they might carry oil - appeared to come off the front cover down by the oil pump. What does it look like? Will removing the lower radiator hose give me better access? Did these things come with oil cooler setups? I appear to have a pipe coming off the front cover that runs up to a radiator. What if I were to splice into that? Thanks much for any input.
