Default Missing, popping back

My 84 started missing and popping at idle until about 6 pounds of boost and then ran fine, I change plugs wires ohmed the coil which checked fine with an ohm meter, check all the vac lines no leaks and wiggled wiring and nothing, I started to get worried, I decided to do the type II coil conversion thinking it may be a bad module, so I went to U pull it to get the stuff, and grabbed an 87 coil while I was there already had the coil adapter for 84 module to 87 coil, thought I give it a try before I converted to type II, took the 5 mins to change it out and guess what it ran perfect Idle smoothed out everything back to normal. WTF! This seams kind of strange to me I'd think that a bad coil would be just the opposite fine at idle and then break down a higher boost.

Unhappy Re: Missing, popping back

When I've tested coil/module combos on the Casper's tester (86/87 mostly) there are a few that break up at low RPMs but sing fine at high RPMs. Its very unusual, but not completely unheard of.
