Instructions for Submitting Photographs to the GS Nationals Scrapbook. =========================================== 1. Scan the photo in at a resolution of 72 or 75 dpi. The photos should be relatively clear. 2. Save the scan as a JPEG format image file. Please set the compression used so that the JPEG file size is less than 50K. Note: this is not a hard and fast rule, but rather a guideline to avoid using up space on the host machine and to keep download times reasonable for those with slower connections. 3. Use your FTP software to log into ftp.gnttype.org. Use "anonymous" as your username and your e-mail address as your password. 4. Once you are connected, go to the incoming directory. 5. Set your FTP software for a BINARY upload, and begin uploading your image. 6. Once the transfer is complete, close the connection on your FTP software. You will *not* be able to see the file you just uploaded; this is normal. As long as your FTP software indicated the transfer was successful, don't worry: It's in there ! 7. Send e-mail to: gnttype-info@gnttype.org and let us know the filename of the photo you uploaded. Please also include a brief caption for the photo to be used on the WWW page. Don't forget to include a return e-mail address where we can reach you to confirm your submission ! 8. If there's no problem with the photo you've submitted, we'll add the link to the WWW page in a day or two. The caption will credit you as the photographer. If there's something wrong, we'll contact you via e-mail. 9. Remember: these photos will essentially be public domain and we can't control who will download them or what they'll use them for. If you have a problem with this, think twice before you upload ! If there's any type of complaint about any of the photos on the page, it will be unceremoniously removed. We don't need hassles !
