Poor Man's "Pass Key" System
John Spina
Introduction
There are three internal splices within the engine harness that collectively connect the various modules to the positive side of the battery.

The battery positive connections run throughout the wiring harness and are fused from within the passenger compartment. Generally, the pink/black stripe wires are battery volts. The internal feed connections are described in the following charts.

Internal Splice 2.5 feet From Round Grommet
Internal splice located about 2-1/2 ft. from round grommet which is located on passenger side, under heater box. This splice connects the following:

    1. Mass Airflow feed, cavity A
    2. ESC module feed, cavity B
    3. Coil pack module (CCCI) feed, cavity P
    4. C437 connector (near ECM connector, inside of car) cavity F.
This is fed by the 10 amp ECM/IGN fuse.
    5. ECM positive feed, cavity A-6

Internal Splice 12 inches from Ground Rings
Internal splice located about 12 inches from the ground rings, toward ECM, inside of oval conduit.

    1. Canister Purge solenoid, cavity A
    2. Wastegate solenoid, cavity B
    3. EGR solenoid (EVRV) cavity A
    4. Fan delay relay, cavity A
    5. A/C relay, cavity A
    6. C100 bulkhead connector, terminal H4
This is fed by the 10 amp ECM/SOL fuse.

Internal Splice 6 inches from Bend
Internal splice located about 6 inches from the "bend" in the plastic wiring channel that wraps around the engine.

    1. Oil pressure switch cavity A
    2. Fuel pump relay feed, cavity D
    3. Fuel injector feed, cavity E
    4. C100 bulkhead connector, terminal C6.
This is fed by the 15 amp FP/INJ fuse.

The last pink/black stripe wire runs through the harness between the C100 bulkhead connector terminal D4 and the coil pack module, cavity M. This is fed by the 7.5 amp CCCI fuse, and provides direct battery voltage to the ignition coils via the module.
