Features of Note:
- The 86-87 turbo is on the left, 84-85 on the right
- Notice the different orientation of the inlet bell mounting in comparison to the discharge of the turbo
- The 84-85 housing is "wrapped tighter" and smaller in diameter
- The 86-87 housing takes pressurized air from the discharge for the wastegate
- The 84-85 housing takes pressurized air from the tip of the "scroll"
- Discharge on the 84-85 turbo has a bigger "lip"
- 86-87 wheel looks to be slightly larger
BOTTOM
Features of Note:
- The 86-87 turbo is on the left, 84-85 on the right
- Notice the different very similar exhaust mounting (3 bolt)
- The 84-85 still has the downpipe elbow attached
- Notice that again, the 84-85 turbo is "clocked" differently
- The 86-87 turbo compressor housing is taller and thinner
- The 84-85 discharge for the compressor is shorter and thicker
