Features of Note:
- This is the compressor side of the 1986-87 stock turbo (left) and the TE44 turbo (right)
- Notice the the wheel for the TE44 is bigger with equal length compressor blades, unlike the staggered blades on the stocker
- Stocker has provision for an inlet bell
- TE44 has the inlet bell integral to the casting
- Notice how the TE44 scroll (left) is taller and "fatter" than the Garrett housing (right0, as is typical for the TE series
- Notice the TE44 takes pressurized air from a different place than the TA49

- This is the downpipe side of the stocker (left) and the TE44 (right)
- The TE44 has wastegate hole taken out bigger than stock
- The wheel design for the TE44 has the same number of fins with a sharper pitch and larger diameter
- Notice how much bigger the PTE turbine housing (right) is than the Garrett housing (left) ... much fatter and taller
- Notice the smaller sealing area for the downpipe on the "top" edge
