Frame rail fuel line replacement
Found out yesterday that the frame rail fuel lines are rusted. How do you replace them.

Re: Frame rail fuel line replacement
You can either get a set of OEM or Stainless Steel at a place like:
INLINE TUBE WEBSITE Looks like around $300 if you get all the sections. Or you can get the tubing and couplers and do it your self using a fuel line bender like: Jeg's fuel line AutoZone tubing bender tool Probably about $60/roll of 20 feet of tubing and another $60 in couplers and such + the tool cost. |
Re: Frame rail fuel line replacement
Lines are available several places. What I am concerned with is...what is involved in the replacement. A couple of folks have hinted that I may have to lift the body off the frame.
Any one have any ideas here? Thanks! |
Re: Frame rail fuel line replacement
I doubt that ... going from memory, the routing is pretty much all along the inside of the framerail. Where it goes over the axle has flexible hose (again, from memory) and hugs the bottom of the floor pan to the tank.
I don't think it's that complex of a deal ... |
Re: Frame rail fuel line replacement
There is a break in the line before the rear axle where the filter installs along the frame rail:
