Default Just got a detail, but need some advice!

I wonder what the best way to remove and replace emblems from hood and truck? Anybody got some good advice?

I have one piece that is broken on the hood emblem. And there is a bunch of crud trapped in a lot of the lettering and generally fuzzy/hazy paint in the background. Thoughts?

Really happy with my detail, otherwise..

Thanks!https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater

Usually some mild heat (like a hair dryer or heat gun) and a piece of fishing line to cut the gooey adhesive as you carefully lift the emblem.

Then a bunch of GooGone/Sticker removal/WD40 to remove the left behind adhesive on the paint.

Good luck!

Good advice, Ken. I guess that was pretty much common sense

I suppose I'll want to do some measuring first to make sure I know where to put 'em back

Take lots of pictures with a ruler/tape measure in place. LOTS easier to remember that way.

If you can get a paper measuring tape or something like the free ones they give away in furniture stores, you can tape it in place with blue painters tape in various positions and get some really good measurements that way.

Heck, we could probably post them up here too as a reference for other folks that do a repaint or repair too?

Interested in the measurements...any updates?

Between a friend's GN and mine there is > 1" difference in fender emblems placement. Was there a Factory specified placement?

Thanks
