No crank no start

I have an '87 Grand National. Everything electrical works, inside and out. The dash gives the "Battery/Volts" warning light. I put in a new battery but the light still comes on and the engine still does not even try to turn over.
Any answers?

I found the problem. Long story short. I need a new starter. Thank you!

Good deal... I was going to make the suggestion to tap on the starter as someone runs the ingnition switch... Also if you look at he RPO sticker in the trunk I believe UA6 is the code for theft deterent system... Tom G.
