Sloppy steering
I've got an 86 GN with 106,000 miles and sloppy steering. I have checked all the steering, ball joints, and front end items and they all seem to have no excess play. I have adjusted the steering box about 1/2 turn over the course of a week (a little at a time) and it doesn't seem to make any difference. What am I missing?

Re: Sloppy steering
Have you checked the rag joint were the steering shaft connects to the steering box??? Might also check the rest of the shaft, they get loose and worn... It still is a good possibility your steering box is worn out and you can't get the play out of it with the adjustment screw... Tom G.

Re: Sloppy steering
You can always switch to a jeep shaft, It will eliminate any play that the rag joint may have created. PM me if you need one, I have a few.
