My mechanic says my 87 GN is running too rich. I have the original chip and a street performance chip. Apparently, the original chip doesn't work as it should and we aren't sure if the performance one does either. I want to use my performance chip and I need the specifications for it, so he can make the comparisons.
Unfortunately I have next to nothing in the way of information other than it is a Pit-bull street performance chip, circa 1990. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Company name, specs, anything that i won't find on the chip itself.

A few questions:Do you have an adjustable Fuel Regulator or is it stock?
Any upgrades(bigger injectors,fuel pump,bigger turbo,etc.) or is it stock setup?
Also it's hard to believe you have 2 different chips and they are both bad(unless you keep changing them without diconnecting power to the computer,or not taking the proper steps to protect them from static)It's not impossible,just unlikely.

I found where the computer is on the passenger side kick panel.
When changing chips, do I just pull the old one out (93 chip) and put in the 108 chip?
I have located the adjusting rod for changing the boost. I am thinking that turning the rod in (shorter) increases boost?
Where can I buy the "stuff" for increasing octane in the gas to 108 or higher?
This car has had many upgrades with time slips in the mid 12's. It runs very well now and I don't want to start changing anything until I know more about it.
Any help will be appreciated.

First, the chip is just as simple as you said. Take the inspection cover off, pull the old one and put the new one in it's place.
Second, you can increase octane quite a bit (but not to 108) by using xylene or similar stuff. It's easier to just buy racing gasoline though.
