I am having trouble figuring out what kind of turbo i have. From looking at picktures on this site i can tell that it looks mostly like the TE vareation.
It has a precision housing on the exaust side and a garret on the other. The only markings on it say a/r .60 m24 And an L in a box.
Of course i am kind of new at this an may be over looking something. Can someone also please explain what the numbers and letters in the name mean. Like TE-44 and TA-49
I don't know about any of the other stuff but the TE and TA are easy. TA turbos look like the factory turbo, or as commonly stated they are "stock appearing". The TE turbos do not. Usually the TEs can flow a little bit more air because the housing is a little different, probably bigger.
